The Midi

"Always keep your eyes open. Keep watching. Because whatever you see can inspire you." -Grace Coddington. You know when a new trend comes out and you're just not sure how you feel about it. Like the boyfriend jean or choker necklaces (ok I know how I feel about choker necklaces and that's that its awful). Well that's how I was about the midi skirt. I wasn't sure if this new style was chic or borderline grandma but then it started to grow on me. Now I'm obsessed! The Midi to me is just so sophisticated, and such a nice change from the mini, which lets be real isn't very practical for these freezing winter months. To get to the point, I love the Midi and hopefully I can fill my wardrobe up with a lot more of them. -Emilie

Rock Your Prom Like Celebrity: Red Carpet Insprired Prom Looks

I think it's safe to say that is is officially prom season. And we all know what that means. Hours upon hours looking online for that perfect hairstyle. Watching countless YouTube tutorials on prom makeup. And of course begging your parents to spend hundreds of dollars on a dress that you're only going to wear once. But of of this struggle is totally worth it. Why? Because prom is that one day out of the year that you can feel like a movie star walking down a red carpet that happens to lead to your school gym. Now what better way to feel like a celebrity than with a celebrity inspired dress! Unfortunately my prom days are over, but that didn't stop me from searching the web for the best dresses inspired my some of my favorite celebrity looks these past couple seasons. Let me not forget to add that each dress is also under $250! So you can look fabulous while also not breaking the bank. -Emilie

Naomi Campbell's Fashion For Relief

"Every year the women of New York leave the past behind and look forward to the future... this is known as Fashion Week" -Carrie Bradshaw. Oohhh Fashion Week. That time of year where all self proclaimed fashionistas break out their baddest outfit, highest heel, and poutiest lip and embrace the fabulousness (I'm pretty sure that's a word) that will be taking place over the next 7 days. However, for a young fashion student, fashion week mainly means all black outfits and comfortable shoes, dressing 20 feet models in garments you can only dream of owning, and desperately trying to network with anyone and everyone. Yeah not so glamorous for us little people behind the scenes but everyone needs to start from somewhere right? Well Saturday night I got to hang up my volunteering shoes and put on heels instead because I was actually ATTENDING a show! Naomi Campbell was hosting Fashion For Relief for Ebola and there I was sitting front row next to J. Alexander. Ok actually I was sitting in the fifth row but still practically the same thing! The show was amazing and it felt great to be on the other side of the curtain for once. Here's to Fashion Week and the hopes that my back of house volunteering days will soon see an end! -Emilie
